ACPA
STUDIO
Etiquette
At ACPA we want everyone to feel apart of our dance family. Please treat everyone with respect and kindness. ACPA is a safe space that should allow all to come and experience love and acceptance. We want our dancers and parents to leave here with happy hearts, great memories and a love of dance.
-
Be on time and Come Prepared. This includes the appropriate dress, shoes, and grooming for participating in your class. Leave distracting jewelry in bag or even better, at home so it does not get lost.
-
Please no food or drink in the dance space with the exception of water. Please do not eat meals in the lobby or dressing rooms. Please use the outside table and trash can. Small snacks are permitted in the lobby, but please pick up your trash.
-
Please do not chew gum in the dance space. It is unsafe while dancing.
-
Never wear your dance shoes outside, and try not to wear street shoes inside of dance space.
-
Please use cubbies and dressing room for personal items such as backpacks or dance bags.
-
Turn off and put away cell phones during all classes and rehearsals.
-
Don’t leave class early. If you cannot avoid making an early exit, talk to the teacher before class. Do not come and go from class. Please try to use the restroom before or after class.
-
Don’t talk while the teacher is talking.
-
Be attentive at all times. It helps your class move along for everyone by staying attentive in line as you wait your turn.
-
Pay attention, participate and follow your teacher’s directions. Listen before asking questions. When you do ask questions, make sure that they are necessary and relevant.
-
Approach your class with a good, positive attitude. It helps you and everyone else in your class to learn quickly and accomplish more.
-
Never sit down in a dance class, unless you are instructed to do so.
-
Watch your language, even when you mess up or in the lobby and dressing room. The dance studio is no place for expressing yourself inappropriately. Keep conversations PG, little ears are always listening. This includes parents as well.
-
Be respectful and kind to all others. Allow them the same opportunity you have to learn and participate and space to do it in. The best way to achieve this is to exhibit the Golden Rule at all times. This is a safe space, absolutely no bullying will be tolerated. This also includes Parents.
-
Respect Arizona Coast Performing Arts by keeping it clean and neat. Pick up after yourself – trash that you generate or that you see. Make sure your clothes and other personal items are neat and in the appropriate place when you’re in class and when you’re not.
-
Don’t use things that are not yours or that you don’t have permission to use. If its not yours don't touch it.
-
Use good posture. Don’t slouch or hang on the barre (or anywhere else) and be aware of negative body language (like folded arms). After all, dance is about using your body to express a beautiful art form.
-
Parents please do not leave unattended young children in the lobby, and if you are running late make a plan for your child to wait safely the lobby or under the covered patio until you arrive.
